Koyasan-choishimichi Hiking for history and views

Grading:

Why don't you listen to the footsteps of Kobo Daishi Kukai in the quietness of the cedar grove? Cho-ishimichi, which leads from Kudoyama at the foot of Koyasan to the Konpon-daito (Main Pagoda) of Kongobuji Temple, is a road lined with 180 stone pillars (cho-ishimichi). The 180 stone pillars (choishi) standing alongside the road have led many people to the sanctuary since ancient times. It is one of the historic Koya Pilgrimage Routes registered as a World Heritage site. Of the 22-km long pilgrimage route, this is a short 8-km course that is well maintained and easy to walk. This is a hiking course where you can casually enjoy the history and the view. After arriving at Koyasan Daimon, the end of the Cho-ishimichi, those who wish can visit Kongobuji Temple and Konpon-Daito Pagoda with beautiful autumn leaves. (Separate fee required)
