Ikoma Traverse Series Part 3: Bell ringing observatory - Mt.Shigi
We will hold the Ikoma traverse series, which is a great way to improve your mountain level and build up your fitness for the Alps traverse. There is a 40-km traverse route through seven prefectural forests in the Ikoma Mountains from Hirakata City to Kashiwara City, and it will be divided into three events. The third and final event will be the last one, with a walking distance of about 16 km and a mountain level of 7. The cumulative elevation gain is 1000m, and the course is tough, with 6 peaks and 2 mountain passes to cross, but there are few difficult spots and toilets and vending machines are available. After crossing Bokura-no-Hiroba, which offers a good view, the trail joins the traverse route, and we will have lunch at the observatory where bells ring, which offers a good view. After passing over the Jusan Pass, famous for its night view, we will pay a visit to Chogosonji Temple on Mount Shigi. We will descend to Kintetsu Oji Station or JR Oji Station and disband. Hikers who participate and complete all of the first and second sessions will receive a limited-edition hikers' sticker as a completion prize!
