Kyoto Trail Hiking Part③ Ginkakuji - Hieizan

Grading:

The third stage of Round-the-Kyoto Trail series, starting from the World Heritage Site of Ginkakuji Temple, we will traverse Mt. Chayama, Mt. Uryu, Mt. Shiratori, and step on the highest peak of Mt. Hiei before visiting the World Heritage Site of Enryakuji Temple. To our surprise, the entrance to Enryaku-ji Temple on Mt. Hiei is free if you enter from the trail! You will feel like you have lost 1,000 yen of your participation fee 👍The tour ends with an easy descent using the cableway. This is a great plan to improve your mountain level and build up your stamina for the Alps traverse. The 84km long course will be divided into multiple events, so why don't you complete the walk? The third event will cover a distance of 10 km, with a mountain level of 6, and will feature a course with a spectacular view over Kyoto and a sense of history. There are points along the way where you can retire, so beginners are welcome to challenge themselves. The Higashiyama Course of the Kyoto Round-the-Year Trail will be closed for the third time. Hikers who participate in all three events and complete the trail will receive a limited-edition hikers' sticker as a prize for completing the trail! Access to Ginkakuji Bridge Take a bus from JR Kyoto Station, Hankyu Kawaramachi Station, or Keihan Demachiyanagi Station, get off at Ginkakuji-michi bus stop or Ginkakuji bus stop, and walk immediately. Approximately 30 minutes on foot from Keihan Demachiyanagi Station or Keage Subway Station
