Matterhorn of Kansai "Takamiyama Rime Hiking”
Mt. Takami, with its beautiful triangular peak, rises along the border of Nara and Mie prefectures, offering breathtaking panoramic views from the summit. From the grandeur of the Daiko mountain range to distant views of the Yoroi and Kabuto peaks in the Soni area, the scenery is truly spectacular. What is Rime Ice? Rime ice forms when water droplets in clouds or mist freeze upon contacting trees, creating a frosty coating. Depending on wind strength and direction, the ice may form shapes resembling "shrimp tails." Weather conditions often create a variety of captivating formations. Post-Hike Hot Spring After our climb, we’ll unwind at Takasumi Onsen♨. There’s nothing better than warming up in a hot spring after a chilly mountain adventure! Light crampons or chain spikes are mandatory. Participants without them cannot join. These can be purchased on Amazon for approximately 2,000 yen. Due to limited seating, bus reservations must be made by Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. If a reservation cannot be secured, the event will be canceled.
