Experience Grand Scenery on a Modest Peak: Sketch the Iconic "Inumikura" at Mount Takamikura!
Standing at an elevation of 304m, Mount Takamikura is a low mountain also known as "Harima Fuji" due to its iconic shape. Historically revered as a sacred mountain, its unique landscape features a horseshoe-shaped ridgeline nicknamed the "Harima Alps," characterized by exposed sandy and rocky terrain with sparse vegetation and rugged rocky ridges. Although it offers rocky terrain, there are no chains or steep climbs, making it perfect for beginners to experience rock hiking. With unobstructed views throughout the trail, hikers can enjoy breathtaking panoramas of the Harima Plain, Awaji Island, and Akashi Strait from its dramatic cliffs. About "Inumikura" Challenge The highlight of this hike is the "Inumikura" activity, where participants use GPS apps like YAMAP or Yamareco to map their hiking route into the shape of a dog. This fun and creative challenge will have you exploring unfamiliar paths and even retracing your steps to draw the tail. The sense of accomplishment when you complete the dog-shaped trail is unmatched!
