Enjoy the Unique Rock Ridge Trail and the View of Lake Biwa – Konze Alps Hiking
Konze Alps consists of Mount Ryuo (605m) and Mount Keikanzan (491m). Along the ridge, you will find massive, weathered rock formations, including Tengu Rock, which offers a spectacular view of Lake Biwa and the Konan region from the top. The hiking distance is approximately 10 km. Since Tengu Rock is an optional out-and-back section, you do not have to climb it, but if you do, gloves are recommended. This course features unique rock formations, waterfalls, historical sites such as cliff-carved Buddhas, temple ruins, and the Dutch-style weir. Although not a high-altitude mountain range, the Konze Alps are packed with diverse attractions, making them an excellent destination for hikers.
