Hira mountain range traverse hiking: spectacular view over Lake Biwa and one of the largest daffodil hills in Kansai

This is a nice hiking tour of the Hira mountain range, where you can walk along the ridgeline while viewing Lake Biwa! This 12 km course is suitable for intermediate hikers, but you can also use the ropeway for the descent. Take the daily bus from Demachiyanagi Station to Daira bus stop. It takes about 2 hours to climb up the mountain. From the first peak, Kongenyama, the view is clear and the wind blows away your fatigue. Passing over Mt. Hokke, we will reach Mt. Horai. The ascent is gradual but not steep. Lunch and group photo with a view of Lake Biwa at Mt.Horai. Daffodils bloom on the slope near the top of Mt.Horai. The best time to see them is in early May every year. The number of daffodils is approximately 300,000! After viewing the daffodils, take the lift to Mt.Uchimi If you are not strong enough, take the ropeway down the mountain (1,900 yen one way). It takes 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach Shiga Station through the forest. This is the goal of a long and enjoyable day.
