Minoh Great Waterfall and Hiking to Katsuo-ji Temple of Victory Luck and Hydrangeas

Grading:

Would you like to visit “Minoh,” known as the “Forest of Maple Leaves,” a place in Osaka where you can experience great nature? It takes only 30 minutes by train from Osaka Station to Minoh Station, the entrance to true nature. This gentle and safe course is perfect for beginners or those who want to enjoy a relaxing hike. After walking through the forest for about an hour, a powerful waterfall awaits you. Minoh Waterfall, selected as one of the “Top 100 Waterfalls in Japan,” has a 33-meter drop and has been beloved by locals and tourists for centuries. After passing the Minoh River Dam and enjoying lunch, we’ll visit Katsuo-ji Temple, famous as the “Temple of Victory Luck.” Even today, the temple is crowded with worshippers praying for victory in all aspects of life—entrance exams, warding off evil, illness, sports, business, elections, and performing arts. All around the grounds, you’ll see a unique sight: “Daruma Omikuji” (fortune-drawing Daruma) and dedicated “Victory Daruma” placed by visitors. The vast grounds of about 80,000 tsubo are also famous for seasonal flowers, and in early summer, colorful hydrangeas bloom in full glory.
