Hiking in the beautiful valley of Kiyotaki River and trolley train
Follow a scenic 6.8 km trail from the mountain retreat of Takao, along the peaceful Kiyotaki River, passing the base of Mt. Atago at Kiyotaki, and finishing at Torokko Hozukyo Station. With gentle ups and downs, this trail offers the soothing sounds of flowing water and the beautiful scenery of a mountain gorge. Along the route, you’ll see dramatic rock formations, emerald-green waters, and serene forests of Kitayama cedar. Though short, this hike is packed with the natural richness of Kyoto. Lunch will be enjoyed by the river. Dipping your feet into the cool stream while having lunch is a uniquely refreshing experience. After the hike, we will ride the Sagano Scenic Railway from Torokko Hozukyo Station, slowly traveling through the scenic Hozugawa Gorge to Arashiyama. Note: This event is not eligible for the Hikers Premium Pass.
