Sunset & Night View from Mt. Daimonji – For First-Time Night Hikers
Let’s enjoy a relaxing evening hike to Mt. Daimonji, famous for the Gozan Okuribi fire festival. Night hiking alone can feel uneasy, but with a group, it becomes a memorable and safe adventure. We’ll admire the wide Kyoto sunset and sparkling night view together. The walking distance is about 5 km. We'll take our time considering the summer heat. We’ll reach the summit before sunset for a group photo with the orange sky as backdrop 📸 Then return to the fire bed viewpoint and wait for the sun to fully set. Enjoy the panoramic night view of Kyoto ✨ Finally, we’ll descend carefully with headlamps. Access to Ginkakuji-bashi By bus: From JR Kyoto Station, Hankyu Kawaramachi Station, or Keihan Demachiyanagi Station, get off at Ginkakuji-michi or Ginkakuji bus stop – short walk. On foot: About 30 minutes from Keihan Demachiyanagi Station or Subway Keage Station.
