Autumn Foliage Hike at Mt. Arima Fuji & Exquisite Mont Blanc Sweets
Mt. Arima Fuji (374 m), Sanda City, Hyogo Prefecture As its name suggests, Mt. Arima Fuji was named for its beautiful, Fuji-like shape seen from the Arima Onsen area. It’s a gentle, easy-to-climb mountain popular among families with children. At the foot of the mountain lies a vast park, where one of the highlights is the “upside-down Arima Fuji” reflected in the calm waters of Fukushima-Ōike Pond. In addition to gentle forest paths, there are also rocky sections that offer a touch of adventure. The walking distance is about 6 km, and the difficulty level is 2 out of 5. We’ll take our time enjoying the beautiful autumn colors along the trail. As a reward for your effort, how about some autumn sweets? Just a 15-minute walk from Arima Fuji Park is Sanda Minoya, famous for its Mont Blanc soft serve made with a whole chestnut on top — a true treat! Enjoy it on the terrace while overlooking the peaceful countryside. Note: No reservations are accepted, so you may need to wait in line. On the way back, you can either take a local bus (¥290) or, if you prefer, walk about 60 minutes to Sanda Station. Reference Video (Piimero Tour):
