Grading:

In Yamato Province (present-day Nara Prefecture), the life of one man in the Warring States period came to an end at Koriyama Castle. The ruler of the land, Toyotomi Hideyoshi: “You too… You too will leave me behind and go before me…?” Hideyoshi lamented in sorrow. Tokugawa Ieyasu: “We have lost a great man… but with this, the Toyotomi era will end. Just a little more patience.” Ieyasu gazed toward the future. After that, Hideyoshi, said to have “lost control,” began to make unreasonable demands of the feudal lords and launched the reckless Korean invasions. Many daimyo said: “If that man were still alive, he could have stopped Lord Hideyoshi’s rampage. The Toyotomi government might have lasted much longer.” Who was that samurai? He was the right-hand man of the ruler of the realm, the “brother” of Toyotomi Hideyoshi — his younger brother, Toyotomi Hidenaga! (Narration: Akito) Congratulations! Next year, the Sengoku period returns to the Taiga Drama! The title is “The Toyotomi Brothers!” The protagonist is Hideyoshi’s younger brother, Toyotomi Hidenaga, who supported his brother’s unification of the country. How will Hidenaga, who has rarely been portrayed as a main character, be depicted in this new story? Set in Yamato Province (Nara Prefecture), this event takes us on a hike through Mount Yata, using a bus midway, and heading toward Koriyama Castle Ruins where Hidenaga spent his final days. Along the way, we’ll enjoy easy-to-understand commentary on topics such as “The Life of Hidenaga,” “Was He Actually Extremely Frugal?” and “A Bold Prediction of the Taiga Drama Finale!” Even if you’re not yet interested in the Taiga Drama, you’ll surely want to watch it after this event! The hiking distance is 8 km, and the mountain level is 2. This is mainly a commentary-style hiking event. Participation fee: 1,500 yen (bus fare 290 yen not included)
