Hiking Mt.Mikami with beautiful gentle ridges of "Omi Fuji”
There are many “Mt. Fuji” look-alikes all over Japan. One of them is Mt. Mikami, also known as “Omi Fuji.” It’s a mountain whose elegant shape almost everyone has seen at least once. The total distance is about 9 km, the elevation is 432 m, and the difficulty level is 3. With rocky areas and steep slopes, it’s a course full of variety. From JR Yasu Station, it takes about one hour on foot along regular roads to reach the trailhead. The hike begins from the Gokami Shrine entrance, where the path is slightly steep at first. Once you climb up, you’ll be rewarded with a refreshing view of Mt. Hiei and Lake Biwa from the observatory 👍
