Enjoy Bread and Coffee at the Summit — Mt. Kabutoyama Hiking

Grading:

We will hold a hiking event to Mt. Kabutoyama, a mountain loved as a symbol of the Nishinomiya area! The total distance is about 8 km, elevation 309 m, and mountain level 2 — a low mountain, but full of highlights and charm. We’ll first stop by Pannell Nigawa, a long-loved bakery in the Takarazuka area, to buy bread. In fact, one of the Kansai Hikers members works there! Then we’ll head into Kabutoyama Forest Park, taking a short break at the observatory, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Hanshin area — on clear days, you can even see Itami Airport, Osaka Bay, and Mt. Ikoma. After a restroom break, let’s climb the stairs to the summit. The area near the top of Kabutoyama is a spacious grassy field where you can relax. We’ll enjoy a picnic lunch with bread and freshly brewed coffee (prepared by the guide). On the way down, we’ll pass the Kitayama Reservoir and through Kitayama Park, known as the birthplace of bouldering. There are many large and oddly shaped rocks — even beginners can try climbing some of them! Our scenic hike will end at Hankyu Koyoen Station.
