Dotted-Line Route in Ura-Rokko: Powerful Gorge Akago-dani Hiking
We will hold a hiking event on Akago-dani, a dotted-line route located in Ura-Rokko! A dotted-line route differs from a regular mountain trail in that the path is unclear and considered suitable for experienced hikers. Although the walking distance is only about 7 km, the course includes rope sections and rocky areas, so the mountain level is 7. There are slippery river crossings and rocky spots throughout the route, so we will proceed carefully with a small group. Akago-dani is a river valley on the north side of Mt. Rokko, featuring several waterfalls and weirs that help cool the summer heat. We will use ropes to climb multiple sections. After crossing a rocky area that collapsed two years ago, we will reach an impressive gorge (a narrow valley between steep rock walls). After leaving the riverbed and tackling the final steep climb, we will merge with the Rokko Traverse Trail. We will have lunch at the summit of Mt. Iwakura and then descend toward Takarazuka Station.
