A varied course with chain-linked sections, wading, rock climbing Kamakura Gorge/Hyakjo-iwa Hiking
Hyakjo-iwa is less than 300 meters above sea level. We will hike an advanced course that involves walking on narrow rocks along the river, crossing the river, and using chains and ropes to climb the rocks! The beautiful emerald green color of Kamakura Gorge. We will walk along the refreshing riverside. We will turn back to the trailhead and have lunch at Yamabiko Teahouse where there are restrooms. Passing Shizugaike Pond, we will go to Hyakjo-iwa, the highlight of the hike. This monolithic rock, which can also be climbed, is so impressive that it is hard to believe it is 300 meters high! We finished our descent with a rope. The walking distance is 10.6 km, with some wading and rock climbing, so the mountain level is 6. If you're up for an alpine hiking challenge, give it a shot!
