Huge colony of one million azaleas Hiking Mt.Yamato Katsuragi
Hiking on weekdays will be held on Mt. Yamato Katsuragi, which is 960m above sea level and offers a view from the Nara Basin to Osaka! The walking distance is only 6km, but a steep 750m climb awaits you. It is a tough course, but there are few difficult spots, so you will be fine as long as you take frequent breaks. Every year in May, azaleas bloom all over the summit area, creating a magnificent red carpet of color. The azaleas are so beautiful that they are called "one million at a glance. The ropeway can be taken up to the top of the mountain, which attracts many tourists on weekends and holidays. How about a challenging hike on weekdays when there are relatively few people?
